We are delighted to announce our new venue in Sutton, The Ivory Lounge, on Sutton High Street!
SalsaMania is pleased to be able to offer a whole evening of Salsa in the heart of Sutton, with a new course for Absolute Beginners starting on Monday 5th July! The Absolute Beginners Course will run from 7.30pm, and Advanced Beginners/ Improvers from approx 8.45pm, with music for freestyle dancing and practice until 10.30pm.
10 week Absolute Beginners' course - 7.30pm-8.30pm.
Ania, assisted by Mark, will be teaching this one hour class running from approx 7.30pm-8.30pm. The ten week course is designed to take you through the basic steps of salsa, to enable you to dance simple routines by the end of the course. We will cover basic salsa steps, simple routines, leading and following, and dance technique. Salsa is relatively low impact, so you only need a basic level of fitness, and everyone is welcome!
The complete course costs £50 for the ten weeks, paid in advance, or £6 per session.
Advacnced Beginners'/ Improver Class - 8.45pm-9.45pm
After the first class, we are delighted to offer an Advanced Beginners' class, designed for those who have completed our 10 week Beginners' Course. In this class, you will gain greater confidence in leading and following, and add to your repetoire of moves, to enable you to dance more confidently in a social dancing context.
Classes are on a drop-in basis, and cost £6 per session.
After classes have finished, around 9.45pm, our DJ Mark, will be playing more salsa until approx 10.30pm, to enable you to practice what you have learned and 'Freestyle'. We recommend that everyone stays for social dancing, as far as possible, as practice really helps to eternalise everything you have learned and you will find that you progress much quicker through regular practice!
